Today is the first day of my peak week for marathon training. That means that this week will host the most mileage and most intensity for training. That being the case, I thought it was perfect timing that Bessbefit.com decided to host a “Stretch for Seven Challenge.”
“For seven days, we are challenging ourselves and each of you to do AT LEAST 20 minutes a day of some sort of stretching routine, foam rolling routine, or yoga to help take care of and elongate those muscles.” Bessbefit.com
This will hold me accountable for the week and allow my legs to recover from one run before hitting the pavement for the next.
Foam rolling, downward dog, and stretching while watching movies-here I come. I started today after my 7 mile run this morning. It was hilly and it is started snowing quite hard on my way home. The hot cup of coffee and hot shower never felt so good. Mmm. This is why I love morning runs.
It’s not too late to enter my giveaway. Today’s the last day. I will announce the winner tomorrow!
Sweet; I’m on board. Will ne stretching for 7 along with you!
Great! Sometimes we need the motivation.
Love this and NEED this! Not sure if I will get in 20 mins/day but I am going to try for something all 7 days
Something is better than nothing! Glad you are on board.
OMG, I need to take this challenge like WHOA. I never stretch enough and know I would see and feel a huge difference if I did it more (for longer and more consistently).
Good luck on your peak week! You’re gonna rock it!
Thanks! Yes, I am notorious for skipping stretching too. Although now that I have a foam roller I am getting better because a FR hurts so good.
Thanks for the follow! It made my day! Will totally be stretching while watching Modern Family…after I eat my fro-yo, of course.
Sweet! I love Modern Family!
I dont think I can do it for 20 minutes, except if I am in a yoga class, but I strech everyday for 5 minutes at least!
It’s mentally tough, but I bet that you can do it!
I am sure, I know it is all mentally thats why I said that taking a class would make it easier!
