Doe Deere Believes Makeup Should be Viewed as an Extension of Fashion

As a young woman who managed to successfully turn her own passion for creativity into a profitable business, Doe Deere is often asked to give advice to others. Doe Deere created her own line of cosmetics, which she decided to sell online. The inspiration for her line of Lime Crime products came from her own desire to use colors that were bolder and brighter than what was currently available on the market. She describes herself as someone who has always been attracted to vivid and unusual colors. She was not satisfied with the traditional neutral shades available from most makeup companies.

While a lot of her fans and followers are familiar with her brightly colored locks and coordinated eye and lip colors they might not be as aware of Ms. Deere’s background in fashion. She actually attended New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. One the objectives she had in starting her own line of makeup products was to encourage others to embrace their individuality through freedom of expression. She believes makeup is an extension of fashion and as such should be approached with a creative mindset.

In the Beginning

Although Doe Deere has established herself as an innovative thinker in the world of beauty, she actually started out with big dreams of becoming a musician. In fact, Ms. Deere spent some time as a musician when she lived in New York. This is where she met the man who would later become her husband and business partner. When she reflects on her time in the music industry she often comments on how much she learned about business during that time. Not only did it give her an appreciation for the people who came to her events, it also gave her insights into the world of business and marketing.

Although Doe Deere has lived in the United States since she was 17, she actually is a native of Russia. Her earliest recollection of conducting business was when she was around the age of 13 and decided to sell temporary tattoos to her schoolmates. She accomplished this by first making the temporary tattoos look cool by wearing them herself. This self-experimentation in creativity once again paid off when Doe Deere posted photos of herself with her colorful hair and matching makeup. After launching Lime Crime she was amazed at how many people wanted to create fun and interesting makeup looks by using her products.
