PodcastOne and Edison Research have been conducting research on the advertising on five major national consumer products on podcasts. The results, announced by Podcast One CEO Norman Pattiz, show positive improvements on podcast advertising on brand remembrance. It has shown consumers have an increased willingness to try out the products being mentioned in the audio advertising. PodcastOne is making leaps when it comes to audio broadcast which can be manipulated in advertising forums.
The survey brought to light a couple of realizations. There was a sharp incline in listeners’ mentions of a particular brand of grocery after the campaign.
The percentage of these listeners had shot from 7% to 60% after the campaign. Also, the awareness of a vehicle company for their post-market product shot up by 60% and 76% for a particular dining spot.
Surveys held before and after the campaigns proved that the audiences from podcasts were more responsive to messages by a brand and also increased willingness to purchase a product or service.
These studies held by Edison Research on behalf of PodcastOne were to show that podcast advertising had a very powerful impact and great reach to the consumers. They also wanted to prove that using podcasts can grow a brand more than the traditional advertising methods. Tom said that they were excited to work with PodcastOne and the five consumer brands to see for themselves the power and impact of podcasts.
It is clear that Norman Pattiz has an impressive resume. In early 2000’s he was appointed by both Presidents Clinton and Bush as a member of the Broadcasting Board of Governors of the USA. This Board watches over all the U.S non-military broadcasting services such as The Voice of America, Radio Liberty among others.
It also is responsible conceiving and launching America’s Arabic language radio and television services to ever 20 Middle East countries which have over 40 million listeners including the Farsi-language broadcast in Iran. Norm also serves as the Chairman of the Lawrence Livermore and Los Alamos National Security Laboratories.
He is also a regent of the University of California. His resume even extends to being a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Pacific Council on International Relations. It is no surprise that he has also been honored with awards such as being inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in2009.
Norman Pattiz received the Giants of Broadcasting Award given to him by the Library of the American Broadcasting. Norman is also a loving family man married to his wife for over 30 years and living in Beverly Hills.
